ok. I just want an honest opinion from you guys....

do you really believe that protein powders work ?

I`m on and off and really don`t see any difference, but I`ll drink a shake because I`m too braindwashed....

plus who really came up with the 1.5-2 g of proteins per pound of the body weight ?
again I`m trying to hold on to it for the same reason .....

and your opinion on different supplements .......

thanx

I've never tried any of the protein supplements but I've tried a few different fat burners with good results.

protein is the main ingrediant in the process of muscle growth. So if you are looking to gain mass protien supplements are good to go. But if you are looking to slim down look toward fat burners.

I'm not sure who came up with that amount but I think it was between the bodybuilders and the supplement companies. I do know that years ago the medical comm did not agree with the bodybuilders claim that you neede alot more protein than the RDA said you did, especially to build muscle. Later the FDA for protein was raised and it was admitted that people who weight trained needed more than the average population. As far as 1 to 1.5 or 2g per pound I think there is still alot of debate on that figure. As for my experience I'm bigger and my muscles seem harder when I'm consistant with protein intake of around 1 to 1.5 grams per lb. If I get too much along with other nutrients I tend to put on too much fat.

I know prteins are good

the question is can you belive the labels ?

does it really contain proteins ?

plus how can you tell what brand is better just because costs $10.00 more doesn`t mean it`s better quality

I just question the whole industry

yeah, so do I. One way you can be sure of content is if GNC has it on their shelves it at least has what the label claims. GNC quality tests all the brands they sell. And I think $10.00 more most of the time just means that it is the most popular brand at the moment

It could be endorsed by "them" in the black helicopters. They're everywhere you know, always watching "us"...

Sorry, couldn't resist. Personnaly the only place I look for supplements is at GNC. If I find something interesting I look into it on the web or talk to the clerks.

Even GNC have stocked some dodgy stuff from time to time ....one was a protein bar that had about 5 grams in and stating it had around 25 grams in! The answer to the question of, if we can believe them ...we'll never know , we've just gotta trust em!!

Yeah but the point is that if it dosen't live up to its content printed on the label GEC will yank the stuff off the shelf and not stock it again untill the product meets the info printed on the label. Do you know what brand of pro bar that was? Oh btw the FDA does still regulate the supplement industry. And no I didn't get that out of Rippleys' Believe It Or Not! Ther are bad fish out there but most companies give you what they tell you you're getting. And no I don't work for the supplement companies!!

It was quite a bit of time ago, so i have forgot what it was ...but your right Skeld as soon as they found there was fault in the product they did indeed take it off the shelf!!

buddy,
realise first that supplements sre for the purpose of supporting your diet......not as growth medicines.....
there probably is something wrong somewhere else.....maybe the workout, or the rest time you give.
My opinion is that protein powders really work as long as you find a good one.
