Protein shakes are great after a work out a good work out. You will want to mix the recommended amount with water ( mixed with milk will absortb slower) as soon after a work out as you can, up to 90 minutes after is best.
Good luck on your goal barbie, also, go for the protein shakes! Even if you don't work out, i recommend you take plenty, it's been shown to make you feel fuller longer, so you eat less
