Injuries can be a pain. Really!

Anything that slows you down means an instant change to your diet. If you're no longer able to burn the calories you were able to yesterday, you have to reduce your fuel and change what you eat.

For example, if you're used to extended periods of activity and are now forced to cut it out for a week or a month, you need to adjust accordingly or your body will store those extra calories you're not burning anymore.

Food is fuel. Nothing more.
