Hi! I just calculated my average daily nutrition intake on Fitday.com and I think I am doing something wrong. I am a 38 year old male, 5 ft. 11 in., 222.5 lbs. 48in chest, 36 in waist. I have lost 17 lbs since April on this diet. I exercise intensely for 30 minutes on an elliptical and 30 minutes with weights for 4 days a week. My weight loss has stopped (looking to get down to 200-ish). Thoughts? Too many carbs? Not enough calories?

Average day:
Total daily Calories: 1,616
Fat: 22g 198 - Calories or 12% of diet
Carbohydrate: 199.5g 783 - Calories or 46% of diet
Protein: 164.6g 662 - Calories or 39% of diet

1 - High Protein Bar
1 - Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt - Mid morning Snack prior to workout (with teaspoon of Creatine)
1 - Scoop Whey Protein Powder (post workout)
2 - Grilled Chicken Breasts - boneless and skinless (lunch)
1 - Jell-O Sugar Free Pudding (Afternoon Snack)
2 cups - Quaker Oatmeal Squares in Skim Milk (for Dinner)
1 cup of grapes (late evening)

I feel good on this plan. I seem to not be getting hungry. Thoughts?

Thanks!

I'm going to keep it simple and let you know that women eat more then that per day.

Stick around and let one of the pro's here set you straight on a better plan.

Your starving yourself and I hope you haven't been on a diet like this too long because it will do more harm then good in the long run if not correct.

I was there too myself at one time so don't feel stupid and let someone like BB1Fit1 set your on your way.

Ah. you've hit the weight loss plateau..
I'm no expert, but have you tried differing your calorie intake per day? This worked great for me, and got me back to losing again.
But with the results you've supplied this looks pretty messed up.. 1600 calories, 12/46/39? you should be dropping like a lead balloon. If you sneak in the occassional dessert or you cheat some days, this could really kill you too. With 1600 calories per day at 220 pounds it's a wonder how you possibly go without going insane and just eating up the whole house.

Eh well hopefully a well-educate mod or something will help you out. I'm intrueged to find out as well.

good luck!

My mom had a personal trainer, she is active, and an average weight for a 45 year old. She eats 1800-2000 calories a day. So as an active man, you should eat more than you are. Along to your daily diet, add more protein and veggies. all i saw you eating were nutritional shakes, dairy, fruit and one serving of protein. You have no veggies???
