Ive pondered this question a few times and was actually bored enough to find out why there's corn in your poop after eating it... This is fascinating stuff here ....

Millions of years ago, our digestive systems were different. Primitive man was not a big meat eater. Primitive man had a digestive system with a longer digestive tract that was far better equipped to digest plant and vegetable matter. Back then, the appendix likely played a role in digestion -- a role it does not play today.

So how does this all relate to corn, and why it is seen in the stool? Since we have smaller teeth, we chew our food less effectively, and more of what we eat is swallowed only partially chewed, or not chewed at all. With corn, some of the kernels will be chewed fully, some partially, and the others will be unchewed and swallowed whole. Our digestive system today is not that good at digesting plant material anymore, much less whole kernels. They pass through our stomach and intestines, and appear in our stool to confound and entertain us.

yup...

Beeturia (Pink Pee)

Be aware that ingestion of beetroot can colour urine red and also discolour stools, causing the unwary to hot-foot it to their GP for urgent tests. The pinkness of your pee depends on the acidity of your stomach; some people don't see pink pee afterwards and some do (approximately 10 - 14%). If you don't see pink pee then your stomach is at the strongly acidic end of the normal range - if you do see pink pee then your stomach is at the less acidic end of normal, and the colour hasn't been broken down on the way through your gut.

Beeturia is a harmless occurrence and you do not have to exclude beetroot from your diet if you are affected by it. If you don't normally have pink-stained pee after consuming beetroot, you might like to try an experiment. Try taking some antacid1 tablets, then eat beetroot. Remember to look at what you're doing the next time you visit the toilet. That should satisfy your curiosity

IF you believe in evolution yes...that we where once another animal....but still your only partially right.

No vertabrate animal can digest cellouose. It's the stuff in plant matter, part of the cell wall I believe. Animals that eat alot of plant matter must have bacteria in thier gut to digest this plant material. Kind of a symbotic relationship....bacteria gets a nice warm safe place to stay....and the animal gets energy from the break down of the plant matter from help of their "friend."

We just dont have the bacteria to break most of the plant mater down. It passes threw our gut as fiberious/unsoluable fiber.
