Egg whites. I'm sure you both eat eggs, just boil yours and eat the white part and discard the yellow part. Cottage cheese.
Tuna. Everyone loves tuna!
Skim milk.
Turkey lunch meat, the kind that says 97% fat free (or something like that) on the front.
Non-fat yogurt.
Some Whole wheat breads.

If you can get yourself to the nearest health food store check out the price on some protein supplementation. When you get the chance (and the money) grab yourself some. Even if it's a few weeks from now, it's a whole lot easier than having to eat cottage cheese, egg whites and tuna day after day after day :)

I've picked up some CarbSolutions Vanilla flavor powder and some Ultra SlimFast with Soy Protein in the chocolate flavor and mix the two (one scoop of each in 8 oz of very cold water). It helps give you a protein boost without throwing your carbs out of balance. ;o) And they are fairly inexpensive.

Heck, I may as well tell ya the rest... LOL

If you get CarbSolutions Vanilla powder and Ultra SlimFast with Soy Protein Chocolate powder, and mix 1 scoop of each with 8 oz of water you get:

145 Calories
17.5 g Protein
13.5 g Carbs
2.5 g Fiber
6 g Sugars
2.5 g Fat
1.25 g Sat. Fat
<0.5 g Poly Fat
<0.5 g Mono Fat
2.5 g Cholest.

I don't know if you have those items available locally... I hope so.

The CarbSolutions is about $10 a can.
The SlimFast is about $7 a can.

You should get about 21 or so shakes out of the two cans.

While it's probably not your best choice, it's certainly better than little or no protein in a pinch.

Hope this helps ya!
