to put on mass and lose body fat should you eat little carbs??

This is a dual-edged sword. On one end, you need the carbs to fuel your body. On the other end, the more carbs you consume, the more stored fat you can accumulate.

Therefore, you should do one or the other (gain mass or get lean) and not at the same time. I would even go as far as saying you should put on mass first, then get leaner later.

No, you need the carbs to grow. You need to eat a lot of everything. Carbs, protein, and fat, keeping the fat low in relation to the carbs and prot. In addition, you need balanced meals (ie., 100 carbs, 50 protein and 6-10 fat grams in a meal around 700-1000 calories), and keep it CLEAN. Good foods. Lean meats, potatoes, veggies, milk, eggs, rice, etc.. Water, and frequency are key too. Eat 5-7 times (6 is a good target).

Unfortunately you've touched on something we all desire, and of course, it is VERY hard to attain. Lean mass. Most will argue that you need to first get big, then cut.
