I am working on the general program with a goal of gaining muscle mass, and on the 12 week ab special because I really need it. My problem is the recommendations for eating to gain mass seriously conflict with the recomendations to do the 12 week ab program.

Any suggestions on which one should be followed? High carb and calories, or low. Also the general program suggests low cardiovascular exercise while the ab program suggests high.

It's a well know fact that it is impossible to gain mass and get cut at the same time; unless you the mass gains are minor.. you must make a decision as to if it is more important to grow or get a six pack ..

Do your mass building diet, do your ab workout. You won't notice definition during your mass gainig. But once you change to a cutting diet your abs will already be there just waiting for you to lose your fat. It will come, just be patient.

Very true..

just remember bogey1975 that you won't see results at the same time.. that's the ony catch.. but you can work to achieve both at the same time.
