Im 24 and I had surgery when I was 20, they took out my L5 and S1 disc's. They both where pinching my siatic nerve and I would have no feeling in my left leg. I put on 40 lbs since i had the sergery, what kind of workout can I dont that will help me get the weight off, but not cause my back to hurt?

I had the L4/5 18 or so years ago and similarly the left leg was paralyzed. The best exercise to start with is table push-a-ways. Carrying the extra weight around does more harm than a good workout routine does for the good. It takes time to build the strength back up but the only concession I make are some of the obviously strenuous overhead moves. You can even slowly work your way into hyperextensions which is also good self therapy. I had to give up golf too but that turned out good for my temperment. :) Lots and lots of pulley back exercises as well as rows, chins. Again, you can work up to some really heavy weight for the rows but it takes time. Building up your abs is one of the best things you can do. Form is super important as is isolation. Experiment and you'll find there's not much you can't do.
