Browse around the forum a bit and you'll find a ton of posts about losing fat. He's not going to be able to pick a spot to lose fat on but rather needs to clean up his diet and lose overall bodyfat. You can target a specific area with a workout to build up the muscle but if he has big excess of body fat you may to be able to see a change. I have seen guys that had that problem and went to the excess with just chest exercises and they looked worse after awhile.
