I'm just curious. At my gym today I noticed a poster listing the SIX WEEK CONTEST WINNERS. I don't know the details but the number one winner lost 10lbs and 10 inches in the six weeks. I can understand the pounds. But how do you lose 10inches in 6 weeks? Is that a reasonable expectation? I've been at this diet and exercise thing now for five months. I've lost 35 lbs but I think I probably just made the 10 inches now. Wondering what your thoughts are.

I dont think that would be the norn 10 inches is a lot and depending where waist I would assume, and to only lose 10 lbs in the process seems off but depending on the work out if a lot of muscle was gained that would account for the low weight loss figure but 10 inches in 6 weeks seems a lot to me. I have been here since June and lost 4 in I thought that was great. Sounds like you are having great results 35 lbs & 10 inces thats great keep up the great work when I am at five months I hope I can say the same.

Depends on what they're measuring. I've seen some programs where they take measurements in several body areas and then list TOTAL inches lost.

It usually *is* the total of several measurements. From the articles I've seen, thighs, hips, waist and chest are the bodyparts used.

It's sort of a nice method, that way you can track how your body's shape is changing

I DID assume it was the total of inches from a couple body parts. For instance, when I said I lost ten,,,I adding up the loss from my chest, waist and hips. Still, after working out with weights for an hour a day and doing tread mill for an hour a day, For FIVE months,, I've done rather poorly compared to this other person.

What is the normal list of bodyparts that you are to track?
