Hi all I got this new accumeasure fat calipers and tried to measure the fat in my abdomen. I was absolutely devastated to know that I have around 33.8% fat in my body. How is that possible? I only weigh 110 lbs at 64", and exercise religiously :-( I do hope I am taking a wrong measurement. My belly is not very taut, but it didnt look THAT fat to me so far... what can I do now? Is it possible that I am all fat and no muscle? I got approximately the same interpretation from the freetrainers.com calculator too (28% fat). My measures are 34B, 26, 36. Can anyone tell me if I am "fat"????
The caliper measurement should be taken about an inch above your right hip bone. You must take the average of 3 measurements (usually in millimeters) and then compare that to the interpretation chart. At the 28% level and at your age, that is actually "average." Anything above 31.5% would be considered fat.
