Has anyone used a bowflex for home training? I just bought one and it seams like it's going to work out pretty good. It looks like it covers most of the body parts as in a gym.

yeah that`s a good question

As I see it: it`s a good exercise equipment as long everything works smoothly... but the thing is it works more be like a cable machine, more for tone than mass

The thing looks good. Never used one. I'm interested in knowing how it compares to free weights, although I'll never convert. I really don't think anything holds a candle to good ol' fashioned IRON!

Thanks again for your comments. As I told bicep above, I've had to drop from 30 - 40 lbs. on some execises just to move the thing and I did get some muscle soreness just because I hit them from a differant angle. There is 62 differant execises on it, so it seems like it had a good varity. I'll keep you posted. Another thing is I don't need a spotter. Thanks Keith

Thanks for your comments. Just to let you know I got the one with 410lbs of resistance and compared to my free weights I had to drop down about 30 -40 lbs just to be able to move the cables in some exercises. It's not much use for my legs because I've already gone past that but as you say It would be good for toning as far as press's go. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again. Keith

The cost of mine was around $2250 but I got the best one they make which is the XLT and it has the pull down cables and the leg machine. They have there own credit card system which makes it easy to pay also. They have about 4 differant types and they are cheaper and the way they have them set up you can still do all the exercises just in a differant position. If you keyword (bowflex) it will take you to there websit and it will show the differant machines. Then request the vidio and information package.....
