Hello. Can someone please give me some advice. For 6 months I have been taking fertility drugs. It hasnt worked. But thats not the point. :surprised: I have gained 10 lbs during this time. I am 5'3 and I now weigh about 142. I was 132 when I started. I have not changed anything other than cutting out all fast food 4 months ago, and eating salads with a fruit or cottage cheese for lunch. I have only about 1-2 cans of coke a week, so my pop intake is pretty much non-existant. I go through water and milk like its going out of style. Breakfast consists of sometimes eggs, sometimes banana, and sometimes 1/2 to 1 cup of coffee with cream and sugar in the morning. Dinner is a differnt story. Somtimes pizza, sometimes pasta, sometimes steak and potatoes. Of course I have my days where I may eat a brownie, or a candy bar. My job is mainly office work where I can sit 5-6 hours of my 8 hour shift. so not much exercise there. I love to go to the gym, however by the time I get off work I am so hungary that all I can think about is going home and eating. Then I dont want to drive back into town to go to the gym. I do have snacks in the afternoon. Banana, orange, apple or grapes. Depending on what was on sale at the grocery store. So after all this, here's my question. I want to loose the 10 lbs that I gained. I am off the drugs for now. I have tried to loose it and nothing. I work with a girl who went through the same things, and she is still 4 sizes bigger now then when she started the meds, and its been 5 years! I can see the cellulite in my thighs and but. And i can see the fat in my stomache, so I know its there and not just water weight from the drugs. I know people say they always want a quick fix, but I need something thats going to help. 5 lbs per month would be great. I know 2lbs per week is reachable though. Which would give me 8lbs over the next 4 weeks. Can someone please tell me what would work best with my job, and the foods we eat. Anything would help. Thanks!

Kuhn...Eat 5-6 times a day. Breakfast, then few hours a snack, then few hours lunch, then snack, then dinner, then snack..yes again. Try to eat all your carbs before 3 or 4 PM and mostly Protein after that till bed. You could also pick up a protein shake mix (Optimum is what I use...pretty good) and use that as a snack or two. In order to speed up your metabolism you have to keep it going...feeding it every few hours rev's up your metabolism for the day and keeps it burning. Before you leave work try to have a couple peices of whole wheat toast or bread or sandwich or something (with complex carbs)to give you energy to go to the gym.
When at the gym do 30-45 min of cardio 3-4 days a week, and don't neglect weights...muscle burns fat 24/7.
Also track your diet for a few days...see what you're eating and see what you need to be eating. If you're currently maintaining your weight then knock 100-200 calories off per week, till you start to see results. You can track daily food intakes on here or at www.fitday.com.
Good luck to ya and fill out your profile and goals so we can help you out better in the future.
