Whenever I do exercises such as side deltoid raises and leg extensions(I do dropsets on the leg extensions) I find that the burn that I get is just unbearable! I mean seriously it really burns. I wouldn't say that it hurts because I know that this would be bad. The very intense burn usually goes away after a couple of seconds, but I was just wondering if this was normal. I hope nobody makes fun of me for this, but one time when I was doing Deltoid Raises, I really felt like crying because of the tremendous amount of effort I was putting out and the burn was so intense. Is this common? What should I do? Lower the weight maybe?

lol I thought I was just being a wimp. Thanks for the post by the way. I won't drop the weight. I forgot to add that I do these exercises very slowly and go through the full range of motion. Thanks again for posting.

With the front raises there is a condition where you have microscopic tears in the muscle that can cause a real burning feeling. Also could just be lactic acid buildup.

I actually get the same burn after 60 situps (usually 20 with waist turned left, 20 to the right and 20 in the middle). By the time I get to the last 10 my abs are hurting and taking the breath outta me, despite my attempts to inhale down and exhale up.

Whenever I feel that crazy burning sensation and my body is screaming at my brain to stop I just say very slowly to myself each rep, "Pain is weakness leaving the body."

good idea bighoss.. its those last few reps that are responsible for the most muscle tear, and subsequent growth if diet is in check after a workout.
