A months ago I recalculated my intake and found out it was way to low for gaining, but perfect for maintenence. To counter this I jumped my calories up another 800, putting just over 3000 cal a day (Its about 19 calories per lbs of body weight).

Several weeks go by and I have noticed that I haven't gained much weight. Not ever a pound according to the scales. Something else I have noticed is that... Well, I have never been so 'regular' in my life. Sometimes 3 or more times a day! I assume its because of the peanut butter and nuts, but I am worried that my body may be wasting the calories I am putting into it.

I guess it is sort of nice, considering the terrible constipation I used to have a few months ago. But still, could my body be passing the food right through me without it being taken in?

I am guessing this is in part to increased fiber intake.....the food you eat still takes time to digest and absorb which can take froma day to a few .....your intenstines are very long and can keep waste from a few days you ate before.....so what you're excreting is probably not from what you ate that day but from day before or even 2-3 days before....

Perhaps you're more active? try increasing calories further by another 300-500 calories...to account for this....cardio (sports? more walking? more active in terms of daily activites?{housework, kids, etc?])

Not really any more active, if anything I have actually cut down on my time in the gym (not the intensity though!) to see if I would get better results (seems to be working).

Of course now that spring is here I have just begun riding my bike to and from work which is about 30 minutes riding (downhill mostly there, uphill mostly on the way back). I guess I will have to increase my calories again to make up for this extra bit of cardio everyday.
