With such a topic so broad we truly try to cover the basics from all angles in this group. Nothing too big or too small. Nutrition is as significant if not more as exercise is to reaching your goals so learn all you can.
I am a young Marine who is currently based in Okinawa Japan. I have a limited income and access to machines. I mostly have access to free weights, mainly dumb-bells. I'm looking for a good way to get fine definition in my chest, triceps, and abs. Please email me with any helpful advice.

Chad freeweights should be all you need. Freeweightts have a lot of advantage over machines for doing what you want to do. They affect stabelizer muscles where machines target a specific muscle or group only.
Be sure you work your whole body. This will develop the targeted areas more quickly. FT has a definition and weight loss program that may be just what you want. There are several programs that are available complete with nutritional guidelines. Welcome to FT and good luck.
