I searched fit buddy, but didn't find much on arthritis in the hands. Are there any supplements or remedies that help with the pain? My boyfriend is having a hard time doing anything because of the pain, and is unable to do any weight lifting. Any advice would be appreciated.

Since I have started using glucosamine (500mg) 3x a day it has helped my knees. Check with a rheumatoligist first or other doc if he is using any other meds.If he can do some light hand pinchers or crumple newspaper that would help by regenerating the synovial fluid in the joints and releiving some pain.

I have used glucosamine and chondroitin? for years. MSM as well. They have worked well for me. Two other ideas are Wobenzym sysytematic enzymes and Hyaluronic acid.

I have been suffering from a severly inflamed AC joint(shoulder) for 10 weeks. Actually was on narcotics for the pain. Got a cortizone injection and used prednizone for 8 days. Then used advil 12/day on orders from the doctor to keep inflammation down. Kept this up for weeks. Shoulder got tolerable but not back to normal.

Recently I stopped the advil for obvious reasons and tried the enzymes. After three days of loading, my shoulder is way better than it was with the other treatments. I am back playing golf and tennis again although I must serve with my left arm instead of right. I plan to try my normal serve next week. I was just told about these enzymes late last week. Go to www.wobenzym.com. They are expensive seem to work. They have been used in Europe for years.

The Hyaluronic Acid is supposed to lubicate your joints by increasing the synovial fluid. Helps with flexibility as well. I have not tried this one yet but will shortly.
