hey,
I accidentaly came across this site and was impressed by it and so I thought I can get some advice on weight loss.
Last year i was around 80-90 kgs and then after jogging about 3km everyday i am now 70 kgs..BUT i still have a lot of flab in lower body and a tube around my stomach :( though i have lost around 4 inches of my stomach it is still 'huge'(36').for my height i.e 5'9 65-70 kgs is ideal weight but now that i am 70 i still have a paunch..in order to get rid of it i should lose another 10 kgs ?that will make me a 'weak' looking person which i don't want.
my question is whether i should continue my jogging and it will help me lose my stomach or is their something else ?
btw i started crunches although i am not getting a lot of pain while doing it which makes me wonder whether it is helping me ?
also any tips for losing the 'love handles' ?
i am really looking forward to your replies..thank you all

Ah you have the same problem as me, my upper body is skinny but my lower body is chubby. The only thing you can do is eat a clean diet high in protein and only eat complex carbs. Do you do any weight lifting? You should. Women can benefit greatly from weight lifting and getting the desired toned look. Weigh lifting is the only thing that is helping me lose my gut, that and proper diet. I'm not lowering my calorie intake so I am not dieting, I’m just eating good clean foods and lowering my body fat by doing so, plus adding a bit of muscle. You should opt to do the same. I wouldn't bother doing ab exercises when you have flab covering your abs, it can actually make your tummy stick out more. Post your diet and exercise routine and myself and others will try and help you improve it.

thank you for replying..first of all i am a male not a female...i guess i forgot to fill up my gender!lol..anyways..as i said before i jog about 3km everyday
skip about 300 times everyday ..recently i started lifting 15kg weights on alternate days..i know its toooo much to start of with..but i still do it!...also i started doing stomach crunches to firm up my stomach,4 sets of 25 each, again on alternate days.
about my diet..i eat 8 'rotis' (its Indian, its made of wheat..) with pulses.eat 4 for lunch and 4 for dinner + lots of water and furits ...yes i don't eat breakfast.from the very beginning i am not in the habit of having breakfast.well thats about it!
btw you sure i should stop crunches ?..coz i thought that will draw in my sagging paunch!..by the way any idea on how to reduce the love handles ..thank you

Oops well you being male changes a few things, its good that you lift weights, remember lifting weights is more important then cardio work because building lean tissue is the key to fighting flab. Lose the fruits, they are good for a person not wanting to lose weight but not for a person trying to get lean. Well your diet hardly sounds like anything, how many calories are you taking in? I think pulses are ok to eat they seem to have a low GI. What you really need to do is add more protein to your diet.

Good sources of protein include
skinless Chicken breasts
Turkey breasts
cottage cheese
all kinds of fish
extra lean beef
egg whites
skimmed milk

All of those are great foods for getting your protein needs.

You might need to cut back on your carb intake, only eat complex carbs but not too many at night. Although you do run a lot so you probably need those carbs. I would cut back on them but make sure you have just the right amount for exercise. If you need to bring your calories up, add more protein but make sure you drink water to help your kidneys with all the protein. Also you need to snack more throughout the day to keep your metabolism fired up, this includes eating breakfast its important. As for the crunches they won't get you a six-pack or do anything to remove the flab on your belly, however they will strengthen your abs and improve posture. Understand that you cannot spot reduce, you cannot loose fat in one area, you have to lower your overall body fat percentage.
