Hello everyone, this is my first post. I need some help losing 2-3% body fat. I'm going to be joining the Army, and i'm right on the cuff of the allowed bodyfat percentage. Currently i'm at a 26% (6foot, 225lbs). My calorie intake is roughly 2000 or less a day. I try to watch my fat gram intake aswell. As for exercise I'm limited to just running at the moment.
If anyone has any ideas on how i can drop a few percent, i would appreciate it.

People have a large misconception about fats. You need fats. There are good fats and bad fats. You want to take in Unsaturated fats. They are required in many processes in the body. Remember, just watching fat intake won't help you lose weight-- you need to watch carbs too. Just like fats, there are good carbs and bad carbs. A bad carb is a very simple carb, such as sugar. Now I'm not saying don't drink Orange Juice, or don't eat white rice, but try to eat them in moderation. Simple carbs spike your insulin levels and in excess will tell your body to store fat. You want good complex carbs, like oatmeal. Also, I'd say that 2000 calories a day might be too little for someone your size. Starving yourself will not, I repeat, WILL NOT help in overall weight loss. You need to eat to lose weight, it's odd but I hear it time and time again and it's true :). Have you considered lifting weights? Lifting weights is a much better overall longterm solution to bodyfat. 1 pound of muscle burns something like 50 extra calories each day, so it's obvious that you want a lot of muscle :), especially if you're like me and love to eat.
Alot of the diet programs here on FT are very good tools so I'd sugguest you check them out.
