Ugh, I was having such a great day....then I decided to check the bodyfat percentage..I'm 27% bodyfat which is a major kick in the butt. I've been trying for months to tone and tighten. I've lost 5lbs (I'll take that over nothing)..but I just feel like I'm running in circles. Maybe if I did more cardio...? I'm just bummed. lol Maybe I'll take advantage of my anger and go for a run :)

@7 is better than 37! How much cardio are you doing and what are you doing for resistance exercise?

Well, I'm slowly easing myself into more and more cardio. I am currently up to 40 mins 4 times a week. For resistance I use free weights at 10 & 15 bls. I don't have access to a gym because of lack of funds. I don't really know the "technical terms" for all the exercises. So any help there would be greatly appreciated too. :) I hate sounding ignorant.

$0 min 4 times a week? Thats really good. Keep that up.
You are not sounding ignorant at all. Everyone was a beginner at one time in our life. Just ask lots of questions. There are plenty exercises that you can do, providing those 10lb & 15lb weights (dumbells) are not to heavy for you.
Check out the home ezxercise program on here, put in free weights, and then look at the exercise description. If you need help, post away!

Keep working at it cupcake. Don't get down. You can achieve your goals.

I don't find the dumbells too heavy at all actually, I'm just not sure if I'm doing the reps. right. I'm still pretty new to all of this. I usually do 3 sets of 15. It's a pretty good/general number. I might just be doing my exercises wrong..I am most def. doing my upper chest wrong. I can't exactly feel the muscle being worked. :surprised: Maybe you'll have some tips for that?

Are you sitting or lying? Keep the wights at chest level, with arms slightly bent as if you are clapping. Don't let the weights hit each other. Look straight ahead if you are sitting or straight up if you are lying.

what i would try is caloric cycling. you would eat different ammounts of calories each day, and that would prevent your body from getting used to the norm.

Hrmm, I've been doing exactly that. Maybe I need to up the weight. I have really strong arms from rugby and swimming. Time to bite the bullet and up it I think. :( I went for a 50 min run tonight. I'm pretty pleased. I don't really care much anymore about the body fat percentage. I'm doing my very best and well - I'm feeling the results. :) Hehe, I'm pretty thankful.hahaha
