I have lost about 60 lbs through diet and exercise although in the last year I've only lost an additional 5 even though I have increased my exercise. I still have about 15 more lbs to go and my diet has remained pretty consistant. I workout 5 days a week (for 1 hour) mainly doing a cardio machine or kickboxing/step classes. I also take about 2 toning classes a week. Do I just need to forget about all this and move to actual weights? I just want to lose the last few pounds around my gut!

Hi meamuck. Lifting weights will build new muscle. Muscle burns more calories than fat does both working out and simply at rest. So yes lifting may help.

If your diet is good, be sure you eat 5 to 6 smaller meals a day about 3 or 4 hours apart. A combination of weights and proper eating habits will turn your body into a fat burning machine. Welcome to FT and good luck.
