My throat is killing me, any remedies or ideas as its holding back my workout

Take some ibubrofen, drink plenty of fluids and get some rest. If you are sick it's more important to do these things than it is to workout.

You might want to try some zinc losenges, they help.

if there appears to be infection in the throat you should gargle with salt water or you can gargle with a mixture of one part peroxide to two parts warm water. Don't use the peroxide too much as it can also kill the good bacteria in the mouth.
