I am new to this sight but have been fighting my weight for many years. I have been working out dilligently for 3 and a half months now but eating is an issue.I am like most people and have a stressful hectic schedule so cooking everyday is not a reality. does anyone have some suggestions as to how to plan meals for the week. should I cook large amounts of meals one day in the week? should I freeze portions? also even with the exercise and weights for 3 months I see no fifference on the scale. I was told it might not be working at my level, so what is better--20 minutes of cardio at 160 which is very hard to mantain or 40 minutes of 140? help anyone!:(

To answer your first question, many people here do just wha you mentioned. We prepare food in advance and freeze it if required.
Moet folks starting up an exercise program for the first time or after a long layoff dont realize that eating that they can eat too little and still retain their weight.
How many calories do you est per day?
Are they "clean nutritious " whole food calories?
Have you tried weight training? Lifting heavy?
Cardio is fine but weight training builds muscle. Muscle burns more calories than fat. You may not have lost any weight but have you checked your measurements? You may have gained some muscle and not notice the difference on a scale.
Congratulations on the lifestyle change . Its a great start. Check out the posts on this board and the Eating disorder board. Look at the "Monday morning check in" posts. You won't find a finer group of likeminded supportive people anywhere. Welcome to FT.

The more prep you can do for your meals, the better. Keep a bagged salad at the office so you have no excuse. Freeze good portion sizes so you have less to do when meal time comes. Cook a whole jumbo sized tray of chicken breasts at once and freeze them individually. Make meals that you can eat for multiple meals over more than one day etc etc etc.
As for the cardio. I'd suggest doing a search here for HIIT. It's a good way to alternate between intensities for the ultimate calorie burn.

certain foods burn calories to digest them better than others so condition yourself to eat simple microwaved fish or oven baked fish/meat(that doesn't take long) with un
cooked brocolli/cauliflower/asparagus /tomato/celery/peppers... or slightly steamed if you must with or without a dressing. Wheres the prep in that?
All excuses of why you cant are arrogance! People can change their habits, people can be better , people can be strict with their selves- if they want to.. BIG IF !
