With such a topic so broad we truly try to cover the basics from all angles in this group. Nothing too big or too small. Nutrition is as significant if not more as exercise is to reaching your goals so learn all you can.
Its all true. My professor at BC was one of the scientists who studied the baby's genetics after it was brought to his lab. They have identified in animals a way to increase muscle mass as well as decrease fat with certain chemicals. It never proved harmful to the animals. Now they are developing this for people with muscular distrophy...so their muscles can be stronger and regenerate etc.
How long till people begin trying to get ahold of the chemicals that block the body's natural response and create this GDF-8 knockout (a gene that limits muscle growth etc....the baby does not have GDF-8 causing him to be mutated basically into a super strong super lean human). How long till its just another 'steroid' type thing? Just like growth hormone this can be use properly for people with MD, but how long till all this just goes to hell and its people left and right getting it so they can look ripped without much effort?
