Well any is better than none, but each person is going to need a different amount. I would say about 30-50 min 3-4 times a week is a good place to start. If you do Cardio first thing in the AM on an Empty Stomach, or following your weights it should have more affect for loosing weight.

Thanks Speeder, is there any particular type of cardio that would give better fat burning properties than others?

Hi Paula,
I would say that "speeder" is right on the amount of cardio. Work your way up to 45minutes.. start at 30, then 35, etc.
I recently tried this workout and it made me sweat. Use the treadmill, I use life fitness and so I put it on "cardio" with a speed of 3.6 and sometimes faster. So you enter your weight, age, etc. and the machine knows what your heartrate should be. So on this cardio program, it moves the incline higher if your heartrate needs to higher and then adjusts lower when you have reached it or are going too high.
I use to do what they call fat burner but I never worked up a sweat and it was way too easy to feel as if it was doing anything.
I don't know how much you weigh in stones... how it converts to pds here in the States.
Good luck with everything..

20-30 minutes of HIIT 3 times a week. For muscle sparing reasons and due to the intensity, I'd opt for doing it on off days and within a couple hours of some nutrition.
