So here is the story. I am what you would consider moderatly fit. I can get on the eliptical or the stepper at the gym and go for hours. But running? I can barely make it a quarter mile. On Feb 28 i have to take a Dep. Sheriff's fit test which includes push-ups (no sweat), Sit-ups (piece-o-cake), Stretching (I'm a rubber band), and 1.5 mile run in 16:54. This is pass or fail. Any suggestions on getting their in two weeks? Thank you!:)

Running is alot harder than being in a Gym on a Treadmill, because you have to actually move your Body weight. Try bhardy's Suggestion, and try and go at a Moderate pace, and if you can beef it up to a Swift jog in the last 1/2 or 1/3 to get the time up. 1.5 mile in just under 17 min should be quite Do-able. I use to do 5km's in 22 min, but I ran 4-5x's a day as well.

2 weeks does not give you alot of time to get into Running shape. But don't fret yet, start running 4x's a week now, and give yourself at least 2-3 days off before the test. You don't want to get there and be sore and worn out from training for the test.

Good Luck!!
