With such a topic so broad we truly try to cover the basics from all angles in this group. Nothing too big or too small. Nutrition is as significant if not more as exercise is to reaching your goals so learn all you can.
Hello everyone! I'm new to this board and to the whole exercise thing. So I'm sorry if my questions are crazy or silly. But anyway about 5 months ago I moved back to my home town and have not been able to find any work at all. So I have just sat around the house doing nothing but eating. Yesterday I thought it was time to do something about my health, weight, and diet. Now I have done the home work out provided by freetraniers. About me I'm 5'5" 210 pounds. My questions.
1) I heard that people that have a lot of body fat first needs to get the body fat down with cadio and not start toneing or with weights until the body fat is down. Is this true?
2) Also I smoke but on my way to quiting, how can I bulid up my lugs so that I can at some point start running.
3) As of monday I started walking 1 mile a day. I feel like I could do more but I was told not to push it. Is a mile a good start or do I need to do more?
4) Last I also have a bike...will walking and biking be ok for my cardio, and will it be ok to use light weights when doing my home work out?
Sorry if they are silly questions but I have no idea where to start. I very confused I have heard too many things. Any information would be great. Thanks
1) Fill in your profile - we need more information about you.
2) Walking, running and biking are great cardio exercises.
3) Get a starter workout here at FT - it will introduce you to using weights to meet your goals.
4) Diet - not going on one, but creating a new way of eating for the rest of your life - its the most important part of fitness.
