This is my demon. Don't have a problem with weight training, love weight training, am built for weight training. Tall, broad, strong. But I don't do enough cardio. I know that. I try and work a cardio machine for about 20/25 minutes after a work-out but doesn't always happen. Plus running's always been my demon.
Lately, despite keeping my work-outs going I've realised to get the better body I'll need to really work cardio. Running near home is the easiest option. Can't always get on machines at the gym etc, and don't always have time to fully concentrate on it.
So today I started my running plan (also cos for the next few weeks I know I'm going to be strugging to get to the gym). Checked out a site about running, got tips on plans etc.
Starting slow so as not to get disgrunteld. Running for 5 walking for 5 this week. Did my 30 mins and I was probably running for just under 20 mins of it. Felt good - see how I feel tomorrow.
Planning to go out again on tuesday and hopefully thursday. Then I'll up it to run 6 walk 4 on sunday.
Keep it going and I'll slowly but surely banish my demon.

I HATE running as well, as I'm cutting I am making myself do run loads more starting today so I can sympathise. I guess I have roughly the same problem my physique is that of a lifter not a runner, good luck.

The running site is at www.realrunner.com. It has options for UK, USA & Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Asia. They each have information on running events etc.
They offer some pretty good advice on kit, training etc. Worth a read.
And I just finished my second run. This is almost becoming a habit!

Unfortunately for the last week and a half - not too well. I noticed I had a little bit of pain in my left foot which has now swollen. Basically rested and used ice but it wasn't doing anything so I went to the docs. I've was given meds by the doc and after a few days seems to have lessended.
Hopefully I'll get back to running soon. Had worked up from walk 5 run 5 for half an hour to walk 3 run 7 for 45 mins. Looking forward to getting back into it so fingers crossed.
