I went trail running today and it was so fun! Up hills, down, leaping and bounding over rocks and logs... so much more fun than running in my scary neighborhood.

Unfortunately my running partner fractured her foot a little over three miles in. :( We had to limp the last mile or so. It was a real wakeup call; spent the rest of the day in the ER and she won't be running for another six to eight weeks. Reminded me to watch those bones and joints; I'd like to keep using them.

I'll try that next time; I was hoping we could go again next week but it looks like it will be a while. Maybe I'll go alone, or see if my sister wants to come. Thanks for the tip!

Okay, just curious. I have a gift certificate for Cabela's and I was thinking about getting a pair of trail runners. I need new running shoes anyway so I guess I'd be better off w/ just a good general running shoe.

running shoes should be right for your own feet.....when you go into the web site of sneakers they show all types of rating for each one......for me i like them with arch.firm and good air circulation.......

If you do get trail runners, I would highly recommend Merrels..they'll last you years and they're so comfortable. Very high quality shoes.

I've heard a lot of good things about New Balance - think I'll try them. I'm really needing a new pair of shoes.
