I have a question, probably farely dumb, but it is still worth asking.
Is it possible to lose 30 pounds in a month if you are exercising daily, a very restricted diet and prescription weight loss pills? Besides that, is it even possible to do that no matter what you do? Thanks to the people who respond! |

It is probably safe/healthy to lose around 1.5 or 2lbs a week. I'm not sure how much that would be with prescription weight loss pill but before I say anything else are you talking about yourself because I hope your not. You look like your in good shape and don't need to lose anywhere near 30lbs. Taking on a very low calorie diet (a VLC or thats what i'm guessing your mean by a restricted diet) would only hurt your gains and most likely in the end make you lose any lean muscle you gained while working out. Again.. 30lbs.. be realistic.. thats almost like me saying I need to go on a cut...

Well, I can see your ribs in the picture you chose to upload on here (if that is a picture of you). Don't take offense, but you may have a distorted body image. if your goal is to be more "attractive", keep the weight you have...or at least come up with a more modest goal based on the way your body is shaped and how you feel as opposed to how many pounds you can drop. Your body is thin enough in my eyes and I believe most others would agree. If your goal is to improve health, I think you'd be doing the opposite if you dropped 30 pounds, especially in a month.
That's just an opinion of an amature. I usually don't give my opinion, but that was one of those posts that made me say "are you kidding?" |

I remembered reading a post from you in the women's section about those pres. pills your doctor gave you. After reading your profile and looking at your pictures, I tend to think that someone has maybe convinced you that you are fat. If this is true then they don't know what they are talking about. thirty pounds off the body that you are showing us now would be way to much weight for you to lose. You would be to skinny then. Exercise, do some cardio and watch what you eat. A good balanced diet is the key to your weight loss, exercise is next to keep you tones and cardio will add you in the weight loss. I have a daughter your age and she would kill for your body, throw those pills down the sink for that is only going to start you on a weight loss program that will kill your desire to eat. Without eating your health will only go down hill. Now mind you this is only my opinion, but as a mother of a daughter your age I would hate to see her do what you are thinking of doing. -------------- I will lift my own weight someday!!!!! I think it would be possible...you you had both your arms cut off!! 30 pounds is a ton of weight. To do it safely, it would probably take close to six months!! You're a beautiful girl, you're already trim, love your body for what it can do and try not to be so hard on yourself.-------------- Think you can or think you can't; either way you're right--Goethe |

There has got to be a lot going on here. You need some serious help if you think you are overweight. Seriously, you need to see a counselor. What you are doing is simply idiotic and careless. I posted this awhile back and I am going to post again for your sake. I learned of this study in my Exercise leadership class in college and goes like this: 2 people were chosen for an experiment on body comp. One subject was a healthy 260sumthin lb football player what stood at about 6'-6'1". The other subject was a female who weighed in at a whopping 95lbs. and 5' tall I believe. Now, people would tend to think that the football player would be the one considered more obese or overweight. NOPE. After taking BF measurements the FB player measured in at a respectable 23%. Guess what the girls was.....53% BF. That's right 53%. What's my point? My point is that what you are doing is the worst thing you could be doing to yourself. Educate yourself on living a healthy life that includes weight training and cardiovascular work and not simply losing weight. That female had absolutely no muscle on her body and was very sickly. Oh, by the way, she's dead now.

Just my thoughts on all the posts and responses from sweetandpetite. I think we are assuming that the photo of herself in her profile is her presently.
Obviously it isn't as she says in her profile "she would like to lose 50 lbs". Well, I would just suggest look at your diet and forget the pills and all the chemicals. Just work hard and keep going to the gym. I stand to be corrected if I am wrong. -------------- You can walk to anywhere you want, it only takes time. Yes that it what I look like!! But I do weight 150 pounds... Thats why I feel like im fat... I dont look it, I know I dont, thats not what im worried about... im worried about the weight itself. So if there is something I can do about that, then so be it, but I just want to know I weigh less.

Well if you work out and do cardio, along with eating healthy foods, your weight will be appropriate. You can burn your fat without the pills.
Good Luck to you, and keep us posted. -------------- You can walk to anywhere you want, it only takes time. Ivan Montreal Canada (aka SpongeBob Square Pants to some!) |
