Hey...

Ever since I came back from vacation I've been getting these awful side aches when I run and even when I walk too fast..they KILL. I got them when I first started working out a few months ago but they eventually went away and they weren't nearly this bad. They're so severe that my side still hurts several hours later.

what could possible be causing this? My diet hasn't changed. I gained 1 lb on vacation...but that shouldn't do anything, should it?

I've tried the breathing thing, in the mouth, out the nose...and man I can't even loosen up my stomach muscles enough to breathe except very shallow. I usually have to stop after about 5 minutes.

Thanks

I sometimes get these but since I don't really run often or do much cardio in general I don't really concern myself with them too much. Someone I knew that did a lot of running usually told me something like that happened because I probably drink too much water before I run. I don't know if thats really related or not but if you are drinking a lot of water you could try cutting that back. Other then that I could only think of maybe the place your doing your running/walking in. Is it an indoor track or are you just jogging around the block? Also I always thought it was breath in from your nose then back out your mouth... but I last heard that years ago so maybe I got it flipped around over the years...

oh, I have the breathing all mixed up? oops.. but it seemed to help before. i think just because it actually made me concentrate on the breathing, not necessarily because of HOW I was breathing. Am I drinking too much water?...I don't know, but it's worth a try to cut down and see what happens.
thanks for the feedback..
