Yet another stellar day!

I'm loving this feeling! Again, up before 4 a.m., peppy, strong workout. Moved up to 35 lb. db for the rows. Feeling strong now! Okay, that was hokey. Anyway, my workout went like this:

I did abs instead of calves and didn't realize until later that, oops, did abs yesterday. That's all right because I'm more concerned about abs than calves anyway. After all, I can't see my calves, so I can't tell if they are changing at all anyway.

db rows 30 lbs. 2x12, 35's 2x10
pulldowns on Hammerstrength machine:
50 lbs. 1x12, 70 lbs. 2x12, 80 lbs. 1x10
shrugs: 35's 3x15 (lip still curls and I half to glance around to see if anyone is watching)
hyperextensions: 3x15 best thing about these is the rest they give my arms before biceps.
Incline DB curls: 20 lbs. 2x12, 1x10 (left elbow still hurts on these)
Concentration curls: 25 lbs. 2x12, 1x8 -- I was up to 30 lbs. before I started the challenge, but I think my arms get tired from the back work.

Felt good again at work. Couldn't wait to get back to the gym tonight to do my cardio. I'm a day behind because I was getting my hair cut on Tuesday instead of running on the treadmill. So, yesterday was HIIT and today was steady. The rule at our gym is only 30 minutes on the treadmill or elliptical. Sometimes people are waiting in line behind the machines to workout in the evening. Fortunately, tonight the crowd was lighter and enough free machines that I was able to get away with my 40 minutes. In a pinch I could finish up on a bike or stairclimber. My biggest problem was my Ipod...again. The music was perfect this time, volume was great...in the beginning. After a while the songs weren't as loud and I was straining to hear. I soon realized the problem was sweat in my ears soaking the earphones. Nothing I could do until I got back in the locker room. Dried them off and sure enough, volume was fine. Anyone else had this problem? I think I'm the only one at the gym with Ipod issues.

There is a woman at the gym who works out religiously twice a day who may be losing her workout partner. I invited her to workout with me following the new routine. She said okay, so we'll see. It would be fun for me to have someone motivated to work out with.

As for my diet--I don't always write everything down, but I definitely have the six meal thing down. I decided to put down the last two days to see where I'm at and I'm coming in right around 1600 cals which is pretty much on target for me. I know we're not supposed to eating dairy, but I do. I don't think it bloats me. About the only starcy carb I eat is my oatmeal after my morning workout. So the rest of my carbs come from the yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, veggies (lots of green veggies like broccoli, broccoli rabe, swiss chard, spinach about 3 double servings per day).

So what I ate today? Preworkout shake made with green tea, frozen mixed berries, vanilla protein powder, a little banana. Breakfast: 4 grain hot cereal. M2 was omega egg, 3 egg whites (hard boiled) and broccoli rabe-rappini. Lunch (meal 3) was mahi mahi and broccoli rabe-rappini. About 1 hour before evening cardio I had chocolate protein powder mixed with plain, non-fat yogurt, 1/3 banana and a t. peanut butter (meal 4). Dinner tonight was a lean hamburger patty and steamed swiss chard... Okay, I wrote that as 5 meals, but I had the morning shake which is pretty substantial so I think that counts as meal 1 really.

You'll may be sorry you got me started.
