What to do at the gym?

When I go to the gym, usually I just walk on the treadmill. I don't know how to get the max work out benefits to lose weight. I'm terrified to run with me being so big/out of shape. :( Last week I started a Zumba class and to my surprise I loved it!

    I heard about Zumba dance workouts that they're awesome and fun. I haven't tried it myself but I would like to sometime because of the high volume of raves about it.
