Create a workout plan and commit! I find it best for beginners to do 3-4 days of workouts, the other days are rest days but be sure to stay active. While working out, focus on the technique and full range of motion. Adding weight will come with experience!
Personally, I made a cardio program workout paired with a weightlifting workout. It is best for me to start by using the elliptical, and then move to weights after warming up.
