Currently I'm a 20 year old female who has been in the military for over a year now. Before raising my right hand and taking the plunge into serving, I used to be over weight at the age of 17 and was told my cholesterol was to high. At the age of 18 I decided the military was my choice of path I wanted to take, but In order to do that I needed to drop some serious weight. For a 5'4 18 year old I had to be under 155 pounds. After a lot of dedication and running on the treadmill with only fiber in my system I made it to 154. Fast forward to now I currently weigh 159 and am over my weight limit. Dropping weight for me is tedious and hard and I thought all I needed was cardio. Turns out that when I was spending hours on the treadmill I wasn't just burning fat but I was also burning muscle, which ended up causing me to become weak during our field activities. I'm new to the weight room, and was scared to go lift weights alone. My CPL and I would go and do cardio and slowly introduced me to the weights. I've noticed a difference so far in just a month but my weight has yet to drop. Now that my CPL has moved to a different base I'm trying to continue on my weightlifting. I had trouble coming up with my own plan and I somehow came across this site. I love the different exercises I can chose from , but the only downside is how short it is. I did my first workout today (shoulders) and there were only three different workouts. I need more, so I think I'm going to add to my calendar as I go and continue my research.
