Just some thoughts

So, a few months ago, I started working out with weights and exercising much more at home than I was. I'm a lifelong distance runner, so have always exercised. Now I run three times a week just for maintenance, usually 4 miles at a time. I don't belong to a gym, but have a kettlebell, some dumbells, and bands at home to use.

I've been hitting my biceps, triceps, shoulders, etc, a few times a week. I've been reading up on how to build muscle. I'm a lean guy, but an ectomorph I guess and given that, I have gotten much stronger in the past, but haven't put on much bulk. I'm not trying to get huge now, but do want to build more muscle and show results more than in the past.

I'm motivated and have been reading everything I can about lifting (without a gym) and also watching youtube videos for ideas.I try to eat right, but I do like my beer and wine, mostly on weekends. ha.

Cheers!

Thanks for the advice. I do pushups, but I find them a bit boring. I'll keep hitting them though.

Good for you! If you're looking to build stength then you might want to try push ups, pull ups and/or chin ups and squats. Personally I love them, and you don't need any equipment, you use your own body weight. You can buy a pull up bar for your door, or you can go to your local playground haha As for squats you can use a barbell bar or dumbells to add weight. Okay I guess push ups are the only one that don't use equipment haha Look up all the different variaties of push ups. They're never get boring! Good luck!
