I don't mean to be rude but...

Another good day. But I was on my tricep pushdowns when this old guy, who has a definite crush on me, came over to chat me up. He asked me how I was doing and, I said I was glad that this was my last exercise before I could go take my shower. I thought he took the hint when he said, Oh, I should move so you can do your workout. So he moved to the side and started asking me questions, like what were my plans for Thanksgiving. I don't know about you but I'm not real skilled about carrying on a conversation while I'm pushing down on a cable with weights attached. So, I cut my reps to 8 just because I didn't want to seem rude. I listened to this guy comment on how I was going to go into the locker room to get pretty to go to work and how 4 times now while I'm on my way to work he has been right next to me in his car and I never noticed. This guy has all white hair...most likely my dad's age. Next time I am going to have to be firm and say something like "I don't mean to be rude but I really need to finish my workout so I won't be late to work." Something...I don't want to hurt his feelings but I certainly don't want to encourage the old guy.

So, here was my workout before all that:

Incline bench press 4 sets, 60x12,60x10,60x8,60x8 (the other incline benches were occupied. I ended up doing pec dec first waiting for the incline benches to free up, but it didn't happen, so I did these instead of incline dumbell presses).
Pec Deck 3 sets 40 lbs.x12
Incline Flys 3 sets 20 lbs. x12/10/10 (my left arm broke form in the second set and I nearly dropped the dumbbell)
Flat bench chest presses: 3 sets 25 lbs. x10/10/10
Military press: 3 sets 40 lbs. x 12/12/12
Lateral raises: 3 sets 15 lbs. x 12/12/12
Triceps extension (skull crushers): 4 sets 35 lbs.x12, 40 lbs. x10/10/10.
Triceps pushdown (you know this story): 3 sets 40 lbs. x10/8/8.
I squeezed my calf raises in while I was waiting for the incline bench to free up:
seated calf raises: 4 sets 80 lbs. x15/15/15/15
standing calf raises: 4 sets 70 lbs. x 15/15/15/15
I think my calves can handle more weight here, but when I bumped it up to 80 the pads really dug into my shoulders in an unbearably painful way.

After work, I put in 16 mins for the challeng plus a couple minutes of cooldown. Finished at 136 calories vs. 132. Woo hoo. I'm not having all that much success with this challenge.

Dietwise I had my preworkout shake with 1/3 c. plain, nonfat yogurt, 3/4 c. mixed berries and a scoop of vanilla protein.

Breaksfast: oatmeal with 1 T. raisins.

At 10:30 a.m. I went to a funeral. Just a few weeks after our soccer season ended, our 28 year old coach died very unexpectedly (Monday, officially). Anyway, got back at 1:00 p.m. and ate leftover food from a meeting. It was delicious Lebanese food which included chunks of lamb, ground beef 'logs', parsley salad, a more traditional salad, hummus and eggplant dip. I know probably a lot of olive oil in the salads--then there's the tahini in the hummus. But this is still pretty healthy food although I can't break it down into calories.

For dinner I picked up El Pollo Loco: 2 piece meal with pinto beans (starchy carb!!!) and salad. I use salsa only on the salad, and I give away my flour tortillas.

Then my daughter called and asked me to go have a drink with her at the local Mexican restaurant (a late birthday treat). I cannot say no to such a request...I don't see my kids enough...and then there's the other daughter who left me for her boyfriend in Tennessee. I wasn't terrible--I had 1-1/2 Tanqueray martinis, 4 olives (i.e., pretty much pure alchol). Said 'no' to her taquitos and called it a night. Anyway, the funeral upset me pretty bad, and time with my daughter, and the martinis, helped.
