My 8 week program starts on Monday the 13th but I couldn't wait to start! It's the full body work out from home using cans. I have some 5 pound weights I'll be using instead. I will be remeasuring in my 4th week and 8th week to see what kind of progress I've made. I did my frist workout yesterday and my chest, armpits and bicepts are sore today. I think it was the push-ups that did it. The program calls for 20 and I did it, but they were modified (from the knee) and I did 4 sets of 5. My lower body is fine. When I start on Monday I think I'll do 2 sets of the lower body exercises and 1 on the upper body. I'll reevaluate in week 4 and see if I need to increase my weight or reps.
The diet I am using is called "Healthy Solutions" by HMR (Health Management Resources). For the last 12 weeks I've been on a medically supervised VLCD. I've lost 32 lbs so far. This next phase uses meal replacements and a minimum of 5 fruit/vegetable servings per day. I usually do 1 fruit and 4 vegetables. A serving is usually one cup. I will be on this diet until I reach my weight goal (115 to 130 lbs). After the goal has been reached I will go onto the Maintenence part of the program. It will last a year and is centered around learning how to keep the weight that I've lost off and maintain my new weight.
