Fun in the Sun

Well thank you for this web site. Being a senior citizen I wanted something with the least amount of video. I mean just show me how to do it,  and I get the picture quickly. I do not have to watch a lot of video that will likely depress me when I see how easily someone else can do everything.

So I only have two 8 pound weights and they were to heavy to lift in some positions, so in that case I did the exercises without weights, but I plan to get a couple smaller weights so I can do the strength training.

I am also overweight. Last time I checked I weighed 240 pounds. My son does crossfit and is in to eating healthy, and he is always talking to me about getting my weight manageable and eating healthy.  It is kind of like his mission and he will not let up. I allow him also to keep lecturing because I know it is important. I know the more I listen, the more I will raise my awareness and hopefully experience some real change in my life as far as health goes.

I like easy uncomplicated websites, where the plan is easily understood.

The crunches bother me, I did them but I have a very weak core I think, and I am concerned I pull on my shoulders and neck to much. I mean I did not use my hands or put them behind my head or anything, but I have to stiffen the back of my neck to help with pulling since my stomach is to weak to pull me all the way up. Does anyone know what I am talking about?  I am wondering does everything have to get stronger or what can I do different with my crunches?

The thing with my weight is coca cola, and pepsi, I like lots of healthy food, but I constantly want cola, or pepsi to start my day, end my day, cheer myself up, or what ever, I can always find an excuse for a coke.

It felt good to exercise, I really liked it.
all for now ... will check back later..

hi there.. For crunches, you could try the following variation. Rather than trying to do a crunch, try to leave your arms crossed over your chest with your hands on your shoulders (not behind your head) and simply contract the abdominal muscles. For each contraction, exhale and contract, then relax and inhale again. Try to focus on feeling the abs contract as you exhale. You should be able to get closer to a crunch as the abs get stronger.
