First Day -- New Rules Fat Loss I

Just so you know, I did work out on Thursday, took Friday off, then worked out Saturday morning with Maricela before we went to watch our first ever bodybuilding & fitness/figure competition. Met a BB guy who strongly encouraged me to train for a figure competition in March '08. I think I will...train for it. Might chicken out at the end, but it would be fun. The woman who won in the over 45 turned out to be someone I know...someone I hadn't seen in years. That added more motivation.

Anyway, the workout, cause that's all you really care about ;-):

We were all ready for a change and a new challenge and I think we got it!

Squats: 3 sets, 15x105 each superset with
Cable Rows: 3 sets, 15x70,15x80,15x80
(these are not traditional supersets in that we actually have a 75 sec. rest period from one exercise to the other)

Hip Extensions: 3 sets, 15 (we did these on the swiss ball)
superset with
Dumbbell push press: 3 sets, 15x20 each (well, let me 'splain -- I could only manage 12 on the first two, then 10 on the last without stopping, so I took a small break and finished the 15 on each set). For some reason I thought I would be able to handle MORE weight with these since momentum is involved, but it was just the opposite, I think because of the coordination needed.

Last superset of the day:
Rotational lunges: 3 sets 15 w/15 lb. dumbbells
(went with a low weight in order to focus on the move...took a little balancing coordination).
Ball crunches: 3x15 w/10 lb. med ball

It doesn't look so tough on paper, but we were sweating and out of breath for a good portion of the workout. Felt good...everyone was happy and felt challenged. Yea! Success. Can't wait for tomorrow.
