After 6 months

My husband deployed to Iraq in May 2011 and returned home in Nov :) While he was home on R & R in August I joined the Gold's gym near our home at the time, signed up with the personal trainer and did boot camps on the weekends! It has been 6 months since I got off of my Depo birth control, which I am pretty sure was doing terrible things to my mine and body because I feel so much better without it!! I started taking prenatal vitamins because they are supposed to be good for you even if you arent pregnant like me, and it's been 6 months since I decided that change wasnt going to happen on its own! Since Nov, I our family has moved back to Bragg, NC and we are leaving for Germany this summer. Sinc we got here in January I have transitioned from having the gym at my fingertips, to having a few machines and simple weights...its been a hard adjustment and while I am still losing about a lb a week, my weight is  fluctuating a bit and I feel a little down. I feel like I have hit a plateau and I feel at a loss about what to eat, how to eat and how to change my workout routine to increase weight loss and tone up. My ultimate goal is to lose 35 lbs, so far I have lost and kept off 15 lbs consistant over the last 6 months! As summer approaches I would really like to get my stomach into shape and work on figuring out what kind of foods work for me and get a better workout routine down. I do cardio every day for 30-60 minutes depending on my schedule, thats usually jogging & walking at an incline of 12. I do weights but only a few days out of the week and not in any kind of routine. So this is my first blog!! I love the updates the website has done and I guess I would love any feedback all of you might have in order to help me reach my goals! Did I mention our Battallion Ball is on the 30th?? Yeah! Thats a mini goal..to lose another 3-5 lbs before that. Its great to meet everyone and cant wait to read on here!

Congrats for losing 15 lbs. That is a big achievement. That's great that you are exercising. It can be discouraging when it seems we have come to a stand still but maybe your body is building muscles right now, which will help burn the fat. It seems the lighter a person gets... the slower the weight loss... You require less calories and need to increase your metabolism rate... if your calories aren't sufficient your body may be into a survival mode and try to retain your fat... thinking your starving it. Good luck! you've come farther then I have in my weight loss goal!
