Read about this routine in Runner's World last night. Perfect timing as I was looking for something new and fun to try today as I feel I should make-up for missing Wed. The idea is that you run the first 5 at your 5k pace and then a recovery job for 5, then a bit faster for 4 mins, so on and so on. This was my first time, so I think I could adjust it a tad. Perhaps starting out about .2 mph faster and using a slightly faster pace for my recover.

Anyway, this routine rocks. I'm definitely going to include it in my bag of tricks.

1) 8.0 mph @ 5:00, 6.0 mph @ 5:00
2) 8.4 mph @ 4:00, 6.4 mph @ 4:00
3) 8.8 mph @ 3:00, 6.8 mph @ 3:00
4) 9.2 mph @ 2:00, 7.2 mph @ 2:00
5) 9.6 mph @ 1:00, 7.6 mph @ 1:00
*) 3.5 mph @ 5:00
