This morning was an AWESOME workout. Played a little bit with the rep-to-exhaustion thing. That sucks. I guess if one feels like really killing themselves, this is a good way to go. You know how you feel when you really find that weight where your reps are challenging, just right - to exhuastion takes that to a whole new level - at least it did for me. Anyway, I did a couple exercises to exhaustion and although I was going to do that on many muscle groups, I half assed a lot of them and just settled for a good max rep set instead - I'll work that technique in more gradually as I build up some endurance for it.
Anyway, I hit some muscles hard and they seemed to really show up for business today. Interestingly, I experienced something I haven't before today - most notably on the overhead press and the incline press. Basically I lost feeling in my arms while doing reps - or the feeling of muscle strain and just "willed" several reps. I was just thinking about it and my arms seemed to float upward and complete the rep. I know this sounds kooky, but it was almost like I was putting forth no effort and the arms just real slowly lifted up the weight. Weird - huh?
