Wow- I just did it and it told me I was at 24% body fat.
Therefore- very inaccurate. (I am below 10% atm) |

While it's accuracy might be up for debate, it could be used as a guide.
If the numbers go down, great. If they go up, not so great. If you get into a competition setting, then head for the calipers or water displacement. t |

I'm not trying to be mean, and I realize you may be new to this. However, if I can teach you one thing from my posting here, it won't be what body fat calculator works or what the best form of cardio is. It will be to help to get you to think and judge things on your own.
Anyone can take an answer... to have the ability to evaluate is to be truly enlightened. I apologize. -------------- Iron and chalk. |

Vel...one of the best ways to track this is simply tracking your measurement. As mentioned above the overall bodyfat %age isn't really of concern unless you're competing. For the purposes of remaning healthy and tracking improvements just keep track of your measurements (waist, hips, chest, arms, legs, etc...). Also don't be ashamed to take pictures and compare each month. They're great for the before and after pictures down the road.
Stick with it and hang in there and you'll soon learn that you can do just about anything you put your mind to. Keep us posted. |

I have yet to find a %BF calculator that was accurate online/scale/impedence etc. I've heard the caliper method is good if you have the same person doing it. However, I really can't see myself allowing a stranger to pinch my fat and report the numbers, not sure I'd even want my hubby doing that! I think the best way to truly monitor the changes in your body is via a tape measure, a mirror and how your clothes fit.
