Introduction

I am a physical therapist in the military. I have been married 27 years this year and have 3 children ages 8 to 23.
I am 5'9" and 148#.

Goals and motivation

I have been weight training since Sep 06. Since I never lasted more than 4-6 wks before without injuring myself, my initial goal was to last 3 months (now at 3 years). Now it's body reshaping and mind over body mastery. I ran my half marathon in Aug in celebration of my 50th birthday (2hrs). Since Sep 09, I have gone vegan and dropped almost 20 additional pounds, primarily body fat. My next goal is to maintain my weight over the next year.

    Made it 2 weeks without gaining anything. Started running last week. I expect the pounds to really start coming off now. So long as the muscle stays.

    I always struggle at the decade marks but finally got below 170, Now at 168 with 8 pounds to go. I think I look more like I did when I was 150 pounds (leaner, more muscle). March 12 was my 6-month anniversary of lifting weights. However, I will be spending 2 weeks in the states (ill dad-in-law) and not have access to a gym. I'm hoping that it will give me a little R&R but I will be able to do enough to at least maintain.
