220 weight class jdelts. I will soon be Elite in the 275 class. I weigh 265. I plan to eventually move down to the 242 class over the period of 3 years. I want to get lighter so I can pull more weight off of the floor.

If you weigh 173 then you are in the 181 class. Which is about 80 lbs more so you are more like 100 lbs away. Keep working, you are doing well.

Mike Miller is 385lbs, 6' 4" with a combined score of 2,510, has placed him fifth-place ranking in the world; both overall and in the bench press ( benched 805, squatted 1,050 and deadlifted 655 ). Your shooting for 2200 at 260 lbs?, Good Luck!! Too much for me, I'll be content in flying Coach...LOL

Wow I've got a lot of work to do. I'm not even in class 4 at weight of 185 (bench-165, squat-265, dl-300). I've never really trained for powerlifting, but I've still got a very long ways to go. My goal is to be in class 4 by this time next year at age 17. I always make huge gains in the summer, but bball season takes a lot of time out of my good lifting.

Wow....i just started working out again, its been about 8 years since i played with weights, im 185lbs but after my basketball games, i weigh in at 178, im at roughly a class2 right now, with a class1 in plain view by this summer !...but as for master or elite status...not a chance ! :(

why is there almost 400 lb difference between his squat and deadlift?i thought the 2 lifts were closely related among elite powerlifters?

He is taller than average. I imagine it is easier for him to get parallel then it is to bend down to pull. Just a guess...

What has become quite the problem as of late is how people will take their best lifts that are done individually, and add them together to their total, rather than the legit way of doing all three in the same meet, and total from there.... Lots more difficult.

look at the weight, and combine scores from your squat, bench, deadlift and see where you are

I am guessing I would be class 1 at 220...although my scores raw are probably lower than they would be in a suit...my friend added 50-75 in bench with a suit going from 405 for a few reps to over 500 at a meet...in squat suit can add over 100 for experienced lifters...

Im almost a class 2 lifter. about 70 pounds away. That'll go quick though once the regular wrestling season is over and i can focus more on lifting and getting stronger for freestyle. But im also only 17. I will one day be on that elite list. Just not at this weight.

I've seen it happen. A lot of tall lifters have that problem, or lifters with good hamstring development but poor overall posterior chain development. Also, another major limiting factor is grip strength. I saw a guy at one meet squat 600 and then drop a 350 pull. Not the same kind of numbers, but you get the idea.

yes, to qualify for a weightclass than you must be UNDER that weight at the time of weigh ins.

Reminder: The total must be a accumulated at the same meet. It is not a cut & paste system. It is easy to PR on a certain lift when it is the only one to do on that day.

RAWPowerlifting's standards for elite. It's up just so you guys can see, I don't take much stock in it. Seems kinda watered down to me.

148..

if your weight is over by even 1 lb of a certain weight class...then you go into the next highest weight class....this is why it's good to be the heaviest allowed for your targetted weight class....so for you 132 weigth class may be a good good.....
