In the calculators out the wazoo post below, I used the body fat calculator with my last measurements and things looked a little off..

The calculator says that I'm 3% body fat, but my trainer who does it every week told me that I'm at 15%. Anyone else off by that much using this calculator?

Here are my measurements as of last month:

184.5 pounds
age 29

Triceps 8
Chest 15
Subscap 14

While a 12% difference seems pretty weird, there may be an explanation.

Did the same person do the same measurements with both methods? Things only need to be off by the slightest to give you a dramatic diffrence.

Plus, remember, they are only guidelines. On line calculators may or may not be completely accurate, but they do give you an idea of what direction you may be going.

I always have the same person do it every time using the same method, and I just plugged her measurements into the calculator.

You're not at 3% bodyfat. You're doing something wrong.

Calculators are just that...a formula. Not accurate in most any way.
