I've heard from a few people that if you are a smoker and you quit it puts a damper on weight loss. Is this true?

There is some evidence to support the fact that smoking accelerates metabolism slightly for some people.

The health benefits from stopping however far outweigh the slight weight gain.

Most people tend to replace the habit with eating, however an active lifestyle and clean diet should more than make up for the change.
