Hi. I have two questions about weight gain.

I gained 22 pounds over the summer through exercise and diet. But after stopping exercise for 2 months, I have lost 18 pounds but have now stopped losing more weight. Can anyone tell me why this happened and how to prevent it in the future?

Also how much fat would you gain if you did not exercise, but added more calories(500) to a diet?

18 lbs sounds like a lot to "loose". Did you go heavy on the creatine supplements? Have you reduced your water intake drastically? Are you using the same scale to weigh out?
When you don't use your muscles, you can kind of get a "deflation"(sorry, I don't deal in big, self-important, trainer buzz words) so to speak. Maybe you should try getting back into some kind of a light routine for a while and see what happens. At one point, I took a two month "break" from the gym, and lost over an inch off of my arms alone. It didn't take long after going back that I got back up to my former size.
Well, if you added 500 calories a day, that were all surplus calories(unused), it should be a steady gain of a pound per week. One pound of fat is roughly 3500 calories.
